This is the Urban Fox archive. If there's anything from our back catalogue you're looking for, you can find it in the drop-downs which catalogue everything from 1994's 'Fear' to our last album 'Memories of Silver Street' in 2024.
September 2025
The sessions for 'The Last Generation' in 2020 threw up around 30 songs of varying genres, styles, tones and themes. As the list of songs grew, our engagement with the album-worthy ones diminished and we ended up with a load of demos which felt disjointed and our enthusiasm for producing any of them to release-quality vanished.
The songs sat dormant on our Bandcamp page as we moved on to 'Sad Cat', 'The Light', 'All We Are', 'Memories of Silver Street' and the 'Reimagined' projects. I was mastering our new album 'Letters from Peel Street' a few weeks ago and found a sound-file for the song 'Blind' which was a 'Last Generation' B-Side. I'd not listened to any of the songs from the 'Last Generation' project for a few years so going back to them kinda fresh reignited my enthusiasm for it.
I loaded up the original project, stripped it back, re-voiced it, re-mixed it and mastered it. The result was very pleasing and rather surprising so I listened through all the demos and realised that it wasn't a three-disc album at all, it was two completely separate albums, each with their own theme, tone and message. And so, nine songs were plucked from the 30 for 'The Last Generation' part 1 and eight for part 2.
Each song has been reworked and remixed, some instruments stripped out, others added in and tightly produced so we now have two albums which sound something like they should have originally rather than one 20 track album that was too big and messy sounding to stand on its own. Track listings are below (running orders will change). Part 1 should release around November with Part 2 following in early 2026.

Memories of Silver Street (June 2024)
I'm very proud of this new album. After I got the seed of the idea, songs just flooded out. The idea came from an old photograph I came across.
I took it on October 3rd 2003; it was a little gift shop on Silver Street in Tynemouth. It's not there any more but it is still a powerful image for me and a wonderful memory. I passed it the first ever time I'd been to Tynemouth in 1995. The light went on. Why not write an album which is a celebration of days, moments, things - positive memories, profoundly emotional connections - that kind of thing. So we have an album with 10 tracks - all written on the Roland Jupiter-8 (a software plug-in, a real Jupiter-8 would set me back around £25k), all about something that means a lot to me. On the side of the shop is a sign which says 'Silver Street'. By happy circumstance, one of the songs 'River City' is about Durham and one of the main streets in Durham is called Silver Street. So, Memories of Silver Street really means, memories of loads of different places including, but not limited to, North Shields Fish Quay and Northumberland Park ('Sea Fret over Harbour Quay'), Tynemouth ('Summer Avenue'), Durham ('River City') and London ('Old Town').
There are three songs on the 'Days' album which really fit onto this one so they've been re-imagined and added to the other tracks on a separate 'Deluxe Edition' which may yet contain a few other surprises. There's only one song left to write - Black Horses (Part 2) - to close out the album so as of April 6th 2024, I'd say the whole thing will be ready to send to Spotify in May. It's all very Synthpop with a bit of Soft Synth thrown in. I'm really proud of it. Previews on the Soundcloud page. www.soundcloud.com/urbanfox93
